What's the life of the average diamond circular saw blade?

I'm wondering how many cuts i can expect out of an average blade for a tile/stone saw. Mostly cutting brick and tile with the occasional granite slab. And if they can be sharpened or do they have to be replaced completely when they won't cut anymore.
